Last week, boarding students hosted an afternoon pyjama party in residence for the Grade 2 students as a way to build cross-grade and cross-campus connections. The Junior School students arrived at the Senior School boarding houses in pyjamas around 4:00 pm. They were then paired with a boarding student buddy and led on a tour of the residences.
This annual event allows the boarding students, including some who have left younger siblings at home far away, a chance to connect with younger kids. For the Grade 2 students, it’s a chance to learn about the Senior School and the boarding community.
The students made Valentine’s Day cards and other crafts in the common rooms of the boarding houses and then the Grade 2 class was accompanied to Brown Hall for dinner. “This event is a much-anticipated treat for the younger students,” says Grade 2 teacher Mrs. Nina Duffus.
At the end of the evening, the Grade 2 students said goodbye to their big buddies and headed home with their parents.
