This week the school welcomed Ms. Lori Adam, who joins the Advancement office as the new Director of the Annual Fund. Ms. Adam comes to us from York House School in Vancouver, where she was Associate Director of Development.
In her new role, Ms. Adam will help the school to raise $750,000 in the current school year through the Annual Fund. It’s a challenge she’s excited about taking on.
“The Annual Fund provides so many opportunities for students–scholarships, state-of-the-art equipment, professional development for faculty–it is truly rewarding to be a part of that and to be joining a school that has such a strong and dedicated community.”
Fundraising plays an important part in providing an exceptional learning environment for our students. The Annual Fund has four main categories of contribution, including endowed funds, financial aid, school initiatives and the head’s initiatives. With Annual Fund donations currently at $460,000, we are at 61% of the goal with five months left in the school year.
Ms. Adam hopes to build upon the strong foundations of giving and volunteerism in the SMUS community. “I want to continue to develop a sense of teamwork between Advancement and the school,” says Ms. Adam. “I’m looking forward to building relationships with parents, faculty, staff and alumni to help make that happen.”
